The dragon is coming...

This year’s festival runs from 20^th January to 3^rd February and celebrates the Year of the Dragon. Dublin, now twinned with Beijing, will celebrate in style and highlights include the Asia Market Chinese New Year’s Carnival on 22^nd January and Chinese Opera in the Open sponsored by Kildare Village on 21^st January. Both events take place in the newly covered Meeting House Square in Temple Bar. Other events include the Chinese Film Festival with Etihad Airways, a children’s programme at Dublin City Public Libraries, a photo exhibition on Peking Opera, lectures and much more.

Temple Bar TradFest

25^th January 2012 – 29^th January 2012            

Dublin’s biggest and best festival of Irish Music and Culture , the Temple Bar TradFest will be back for the 7th year from January 25-29th 2012. The 2012 festival will include headline concerts in Christ Church Cathedral, Dublin City Hall and The Button Factory.

Other highlights include over 200 free events, music trail, singers club, open sessions, two outdoor stages, the international Celtic Irish dance show, master classes and showcases, gigs for kids, children’s club, pipe bands, street performers, a rural Irish village in the city and much more.

The Iconic surrounds of Christ Church cathedral will play host to Michael Mc Goldrick, Ralph Mc Tell and The Dubliners 50th anniversary concert. Dublin’s city hall will resound to the sounds of Irish Music all week with lunch time and evening intimate concerts with some of Irelands best known artists including Voices and Harps with Moya Brennan and Cormac De Barra, Frankie Gavin, Sean O Riada’s Cor Cúil Aodha, Tommy Sands, Mick O’ Brien, an evening of Irish Culture in Song and story with Noel O’ Grady and a very special gala benefit night for the Pecker Dunne.

On Wednesday 28^th September The Morgan Hotel today announceed a new loyalty club for the Morgan Hotel.

Launched in the exclusive Penthouse at The Morgan, it’s owners Paul and Lisa Fitzpatrick were delighted to be able to spoil their VIP guests in the best location in Dublin for a party.

The Loyalty Club promises to offer a super opportunity to reward the long standing guests of The Morgan Bar and Hotel for their continued custom at the hotel. Membership to this club is by invitation only and guests will be treated to special offers, treats and discounts on food, beverage, packages and parties over the coming months.

The Morgan is ‘The’ party venue in Dublin City centre and it’s continued success in a tough business environment is both attributed to the commitment of the hotel’s team to deliver excellent service to it’s guests and ultimately the support of it’s regular customers and clients.

To coincide with the launch, The Morgan held a 'Sex and the City' themed corporate evening on Thursday 13th May to showcase the new room as well as the hotel which includes: the award winning Morgan Bar, Parisian style courtyard, 120 designer guestrooms, trendy penthouse and 5 state-of-the-art meeting rooms.

At 8.30pm guests enterered the Connection Suite where they enjoyed a glass of prosecco and chocolate-dipped strawberries for a true 'Sex and the City' experience! 'Fashionista" and style guru Lisa Fitzpatrick hosted a fashion show in conjunction with Assets Model Agency and a variety of summer lines were showcased including the new Bastyan range from Brown Thomas.

Guests also had the opportunity to enjoy a pampering in the infamous penthouse where beauty therapists were available onsite with a variety of treatments including manicures and massage. Whilst waiting for treatments guests could check out the rooftop airstream and admire the views over the Dublin city skyline!

Amongst the 150 mostly female guest list included hotel owner Paul Fitzpatrick, TV3 Producer Deric Hartigan and Eugene Masterson - Sunday World.

The atmosphere for the night was curious, crazy and cool, and all in all, a most enjoyable and entertaining evening was had by everyone! Certainly in-keeping with The Morgan's reputation, the Resident's Lounge was launched in true designer style!

A former graduate of DIT Cathal Brugha Street, Anne Marie's 19 year career has taken her to the UK with brands such as Millennium Copthorne, Cliveden in Berkshire and closer to home, Conrad Dublin and was General Manager at The Glenview Hotel in Wicklow, where she won Best General Manager in 2002, from the HSMAI.

Anne Marie says 'that it is her passion and pride to deliver exceptional service that keeps her focused and eager to succeed in this very competitive industry.
