After requests from the Royal Dublin Society (RDS), the decision to establish a state-run museum arose to continue expanding museum activities. Today, the National Museum is Ireland's leading museum institution, with three different branches in Dublin. The three different locations are located between a 10-minute walk, and 15-minute walk from the Morgan Hotel. The National Museum of Ireland
The National Museum of Ireland has 3 locations in Dublin, all easily accessible on foot from The Morgan Hotel’s central location. A whole day can be spent in each location depending on what you are most interested in. The museums are all housed in beautifully designed buildings steeped in history.
Archaeology – Kildare Street, Dublin 2
Exhibitions include the finest collection of prehistoric gold artefacts in Western Europe, outstanding examples of metalwork from the Celtic Iron Age, and the museum’s world-renowned collection of medieval ecclesiastical objects and jewellery. Kildare Street is just a short walk away from The Morgan Hotel.

Decorative Arts & History Museum – Collins Barracks Dublin 7
Home to a wide range of objects, which include weaponry, furniture, silver, ceramics, and glassware, as well as examples of Folklife and costume. Admission is free. Collins Barracks is also a short distance from The Morgan Hotel, our reception team will be able to guide you in the right direction.
Natural History Museum – Merrion Street Dublin 2
Visit the many galleries of animals from Ireland and overseas, also visit geological exhibits from a total collection of about 2 million scientific specimens. Admission is free. Merrion Street is within walking distance of The Morgan Hotel and is situated in a scenic part of the capital.
