The Natural History Museum is one of Irelands’ most famous museums and offers a comprehensive look at the natural history of Ireland and the world through its fauna and animals.
A cabinet style museum, the museum is laid out on four floors: two of which can be viewed in person while the upper balconies are accessible through an online virtual tour. The ground floor known as the Irish Room is dedicated to the animals and planets found all over the island, while the upper floor houses the more exotic Mammals of The World collection.
The museum is suitable for all ages and regularly has events and guest exhibitions on throughout the year, information about which can be found here. Located in Dublin’s Merrion Square, it’s less than a 20 minute walk away from The Morgan, so is perfect if you’re looking to explore something a bit different on your trip to Dublin.
