The Jameson Distillery
The Jameson Distillery, located on Bow Street in Smithfield, has been the home of Jameson Irish Whisky since 1780. Originally opened as a factory producing Jameson Whiskey, it now stands as a monument celebrating the heritage of the Irish brand. It has become a top tourist attraction in Dublin City, offering a fully hosted experience to visitors. The Bow St Experience has been voted as The World’s Leading Distillery Tour. Throughout the tour, you’ll be given the opportunity to see, smell and of course taste the premium whiskey, all guided by a Jameson ambassador. The immersive experience will guide you through the history of the brand through a series of storytelling and craic, comparative whiskey tasting and a complimentary Jameson drink, in the exact location where it all began.
The tour takes place 7 days a week. Tickets can be purchased via the Jameson Whiskey website, at a cost of €20 per adult. Discounted tickets are available for students and over 65’s. Other experiences offered at The Jameson Distillery include a whiskey blending class, a whiskey cocktail making class and a secret whiskey tasting. The distillery can be easily reached by foot in just 20 minutes from The Morgan Hotel. Alternatively, you can walk to the nearby Abbey Street LUAS stop and take the Red Line LUAS to Smithfield. From here, it is just a two-minute walk to the Jameson Distillery.
