Croke Park
The home of Irish sport, Croke Park, is an unmissable attraction if you're planning a city break in Dublin. Located approximately 20 minutes by taxi from The Morgan Hotel, Croke Park is steeped in history and is one of the biggest sporting and entertainment venues in the country.
If you are attending a concert, conference, or a match in Croke Park and are travelling up for the event, The Morgan Hotel is ideally located in Dublin city centre. Walking to the historic stadium from the hotel will only take 25 minutes, and there are a number of buses also available from Westmoreland Street and O'Connell Street, which will bring you directly to Croke Park. We do advise, if you are attending a match or concert, to give yourself adequate time as a large volume of people will take the streets and may cause delays.
Croke Park (Páirc an Chrócaigh) is one of the most historic stadiums in Ireland, and it serves both as the principal stadium and headquarters of the Gaelic Athletic Association, also known as the GAA. This newly constructed stadium has been used for the GAA since 1884 for both Football and Hurling games and attracts thousands of Irish fans from around the country every year. The capacity for Croke Park for sporting events is 82,300 making it the third largest stadium in Europe.
In addition to major sporting events, Croke Park plays host to a number of incredible concerts every year. 2018 will see The Rolling Stones, Taylor Swift and Michael Bublé take to the stage. A Croke Park concert is always a special event and you'll often people travelling from all over Europe and further afield to attend. For the most up to date information on concerts and tickets, be sure to visit the Croke Park Website. There's also a dedicated conference space within the stadium; be sure to contact our sales team for corporate or business bookings.
Make sure to visit the GAA museum during your break and if you're lucky with the weather, the Skyline tour brings you to the top of Croke Park and gives you incredible skyline views of the city.
