The Olympia Theatre

A phenomenal theatre experience

1

Dan Lowrey’s Music Hall, as the Olympia Theatre was known originally, opened its doors in 1881, and in 1897 it re-opened as a theatre. It survived some of Ireland’s most turbulent times in history, including the Easter Rising and the Great War. Finally, in 1923 The Olympia Theatre was established as a theatre that presented opera, ballet, drama, pantomime and films. The Morgan Hotel is one of the closest hotels to the Olympia Theatre, so make sure to head to our offers page to see our full range of packages available for your stay.

The theatre is home to music, drama, comedy and everything in between. Some of the most famous acts include Charlie Chaplin, Laurel and Hardy, and Marcel Marceau. Actors such as Cillian Murphy, Brendan Gleeson, and Tom Vaughan Lawlor have graced the theatre with their presence too. Music acts such as David Bowie, Adele, Mumford & Sons and Hozier, just to name a few, have played here as well. Some other world-famous acts have even requested to play at The Olympia for a more intimate setting with their Irish fans.

The Olympia Theatre has been welcoming visitors for the last 117 years. Check out the event listing and find out more information at The Olympia Theatre website.
